Free APR Prep Courses Starting March 20
Dear PRSA Greater Fort Lauderdale Chapter Member:
I would like to invite you to participate in an extremely important program that will significantly enhance your value as a public relations professional. Please give serious consideration to getting your Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) this year.
The APR credential is valuable to those practitioners who earn it; to the agencies, clients and organizations they represent; and, perhaps most importantly, to the public relations profession itself, according to PRSA national.
On average, experienced accredited independent professionals made $80,215 more in a year than unaccredited practitioners. When years of experience as an independent professional were controlled, the income difference per year attributed to accreditation increased to $94,449. Study and learning associated with professional development programs such as accreditation provide a real financial benefit and is different from mere experience.
We will kick off the chapter’s yearly exam preparation sessions at a meeting on Tuesday, March 20 at Florida International University’s Biscayne Bay Campus’ Wolfe University Center. The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. in Room 157. FIU’s address is 3000 NE 151st Street, North Miami Beach, FL 33181 (map of campus is attached). Sessions will be held at both FIU and the Broward County Aviation Department (please see the attached schedule of specific dates and topics). The first meeting will fully explain the APR process and provide details about this course and other APR preparation options. This year, we’ve invited members of the Miami chapter to join Fort Lauderdale members in this course of study.
